Over the past two years, Nepal has emerged as one of South Asia’s fastest-growing electric mobility markets. Thanks to favorable government duty structures and an abundance of clean hydroelectric power, EVs now account for more than 70% of new passenger vehicle registrations.
As we look forward to the upcoming seasons of 2025 and 2026, automakers from across the globe are gearing up to introduce their flagship electric SUVs to Nepali roads. Here is our exclusive breakdown of the most anticipated models.
The iconic Hyundai Creta is finally going all-electric. Built on an adapted K2 platform with a 45kWh to 50kWh battery pack, the Creta EV promises an estimated real-world range of 380 km to 420 km. Expected to arrive in Nepal via Laxmi Intercontinental by mid-2025, it directly rivals the Tata Curvv.ev and BYD Atto 3.
Tata Motors has officially revealed the Curvv.ev, a head-turning coupe SUV boasting a 55kWh battery pack and up to 502 km of certified range. Equipped with Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, sipadian automotive dealers are already preparing customer test drives across Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Following the massive success of the Atto 3 and Seal sedan in Nepal, BYD is launching the Sea Lion 07. Built on the revolutionary e-Platform 3.0 Evo with Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery integration, this mid-size crossover features lightning-fast 230kW DC fast charging capable of going from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
"Nepal's EV market has matured rapidly. Buyers are no longer just looking for basic commuter hatchbacks; they want long-range luxury SUVs capable of handling diverse terrains and highway road trips."
If you are planning to upgrade your vehicle within the next 6 to 12 months, hold on to your decision! The upcoming lineup will introduce higher energy density batteries, advanced active safety systems, and competitive pricing across all segments.
